GOTTA LOVE the water in the Northern Gulf!!!

Not a bad day to head out of the marina in search of Kings. Just to prove that's not just how it was in the bay, the Gulf was just as flat inshore.

All in all a good run boating 4 out of 6 all on baited dusters w/a #4 planer. Just me and the little crew for this day. Wouldn't trade anything for the excitement of my 8 y/o daughter bringing in her biggest King all by herself.

Took the full family out for some bottom bumpin on the 1st. The bride once again showing up the boys with a Red and a Gag Grouper. Weren't too good with the camera that day, but all hail the might Bonita cut bait!!

Of course with Bonita you always end up with one very annoyed shark.

Schweet! Quite the king-slayer, aren't we! Still 115 here on the beach, with no water in sight!

So Meat, you're saying you'd have no sympathy if I told you the bay temps are 89ish and the Gulf is 85-87 depending on which current you're in? It's just not as refreshing as you'd like after being out all day in the sun hauling fish over the side. Got a new 6/0 Penn on a Penn rod for my b-day; one of the office dudes called it a crane. Pulls short grouper with ZERO problem. Try it out in 100' soon, let you know. Half way yet? Enjoy your three beers!!:beerbang:

Sounds like ya'll are having a good time this year in Panama. I wish I could be back home, but I can't complain only being stationed over here in Biloxi. We entered a King tournament here 3 weeks ago. Our biggest was only 22lbs, a 30lbs took the money. 22lbs was good for 3rd or 4th but they only paid the top two spots, So I didn't even have mine officially wieghed. I got some pics I'll put on here when I can remember to get them off the camera. I really wanted to leave my boat in Panama at Mom and Dads this summer but some unforseen circumstances wouldn't let me. Me and my son are going out this Saturday along with a friend of mine and his nephew. Hopefully we'll get a couple of quick smokers so I can put them on some snapper and grouper. Much like the shark you had there, quite a few of them off the MS coast, mostly Blacktips. Let me know if ya'll hear about the dolphin coming in close over there, cause I'll be heading down I-10 faster than you can blink. I have a leave chit ready to go. Anyway ya'll take care and I'll get some pics on here soon. Good luck to ya'll.

Bites been mostly good and we haven't ventured off shore in a long time; 3-5 miles of the beach is where all our action has been. Chicken Dolphin with the biggest we've caught at about 20". Wife did an awesome fillet on that one so we had a couple nice strips on the grill that night. Saw on Half Hitch's site 20 miles for Dolphin right now. Bay Point Billfish tourney this weekend, so probably see some nice bulls there. I'd be pretty happy with a 22# king; trolling or flatline? All of ours are trolled Dusters, can't get a bite on a lip bait lately. Hoping to run the Grey Ghost or some spots about 15 out next time we go. I'll be watchin' for your pix.

Yea my Dad called a couple of days ago wondering if I was coming home for the Billfish Tourney. I had plans already to run out here. In order to even catch Kings here you have to run 20+ miles out. It's pretty annoying having grown up over there. Depending on the weather I still may come home this weekend but it will be to hang out with Dad at Bay Point and watch the fish come in. Doubt I would do any fishing unless it was wade fishing in a couple of my speckled trout honey holes.

The picture doesn't do the 22#er justice, too tired to worry about getting a nice pic and forgot the camera when we went out that day. The smallest was about 12lbs. They changed our forecast this weekend for 1 foot seas!!!BEAUtiful!!!!!!
