What better way to spend Father's Day than with your kids on the water when the bite is good?!?!? :fishing1:
Got out early Sunday morning in search of a little bait and pulled a few hardtails off the buoys. They were pretty hungry and #8 Sabiki's don't hold up too well to multiple hook ups, so lost more Sabiki bugs than we caught hardtails. :skullbones:
Off to the fishing grounds.
Hit the hard bottoms west of the St Andrews Pass and we started some drifts. The sub bite was so thick we could barely keep baits in the water. My son scored the first keeper with a healthy 3# Red Snapper (pic in a bit; hard to fish two kids and keep up with the camera). Then my little girl finally gets a hook up so she can be on the internet and lands the biggest Trigger ever brought over our gunnels. :appl:

Kept the drift runs going and she picked up another keeper Trigger and a ton of sub Snappers. My son was pulling subs as well and kept me plenty busy cutting, baiting, and dehooking throw backs and some new to be baits.

We head over to Span 6 with our new baits in search of AJ only to find someone already beat us to the spot. No worries, we know where fish are so back we go and drop anchor on a spot that paints a picture on the bottom machine that's going to be a no miss. My son quickly adds Snapper #2

We keep sending down cut Bonita and keep pulling up subs when I finally get to pull up a tasty Red Grouper. :D Not long and the live bait rig goes off and our Porgy has morphed itself into a 9.25# Grouper that my son expertly finishes off and lands it in the fish box for the big catch of the day.

All totaled Team Double Shot brings aboard 27 fish with 2x keeper Triggers, 2x keeper Snapper, and 2x keeper Grouper.
I say again, what better way to spend Father's Day than on the water with your kids when the bite is good...
