CaptainSid says catching Dorado in Florida is much better than being home in Iowa shoveling snow - heheehe.
That's right CaptainSid wanted to catch a Dorado as he had never caught one before. I said a little something to Bill The Bucket Boy TWISTER and like a true Get Bent Member he took us out with only one thing in mind - Getting CaptainSid a Dorado.
So we got to the ramp, launched and shot the inlet to calm seas and a GREAT sunrise.

Twister and CaptainSid figured out the game plan on the way out.

So we set up our troll at the 140 and decided we would work our way out deeper.
CaptainSid kept a close eye on the lines as we had 2 Outriggers, 2 Flat Lines and a Shotgun out.

Twister figured he would entertain us with a dance to the music on the radio (yes he started drinking a bit early and would make a good Dark King)

So were trolling along and near the 150 mark and - pop - Pop - POP - three of the lines snap out of the clips and 3 of the 5 rods have FISH ON and REELS SCREAMING.
Controlled mayhem aboard the Flyin By as CaptainSid and I grab Rods with one still in the Rod Holder peeling line as Twister got a turn or two on it before grabbing the gaff.
CaptainSid brought his Dorado along side the boat and Twister stuck it with the gaff - YES - CaptainSid has his first Dorado under his belt, in the boat and on ice in the cooler.
Well the rod I am holding still has line peeling off it. So CaptainSid grabs the other rod and goes back to work. Wasn't long and he had another Dorado along side the boat. Again Twister hit the mark with his gaff and the Captain had 2 Dorado under his belt, boated and in the cooler on ice.

Yes I am still holding a rod with line coming off the reel. Twister decided to turn the boat so I could gain some line. We soon noticed that we had Sea Grass wrapped all around the line and new this was not a good thing so we took it slow and easy.
Finally the fish came to color and yes indeed it was another Dorado and a BIG one at that. She was all lit up and was a fantastic site in the clear water. Well I got it boat side but was still a bit to deep to gaff. When it saw the gaff it dove a shot under the boat.
I am bent over the gunnel with the rod as deep in the water as I can get it but couldn't get around the boat so we tried to back off it.

Well we set everything back up and started trolling again.
Seems the wild life wanted to play as the Atlantic Bottle Nose came and swam in and out of our spread and played with the boat.

Needless to say although this is a nice site it is not a good sign for fishing. We did watch them for awhile along with the thousands of Flying Fish that were in the area as well.
Well they wouldn't leave us alone so we headed in.

I can not thank Twister enough for the trip and allowing my Dad to mark another species off the list of fish he wanted to catch.
So we finished off with Twister and CaptainSid by the Flyin By took a quick pic and headed on home.
