baitfish

Sorry for the late report, but wanted to post it anyway since these are the biggest trout I've caught so far! Sorry for the poor pics as well, all we had was a cell phone.
Went for an after work trip in the boat with my buddy Thomas looking for some trout and reds and that was exactly what we found!
After meeting at Ricks and filling the livewell with live shrimp and mud minnow we headed for the powerlines area. We stil had around 45 minutes of daylight when the first bait hit the water. I opted for 3" Big Hammers at first and that was the go to bait for the day! I was throwing a 3" baitfish pattern

when I hooked up on a shortie around 13" then Thomas hooked into another shortie on a shrimp plastic. I missed a solid hit and then it slowed down for a little bit. I switched over to cork and shrimp and nothing wanted to play. So I switched back to a Big hammer and since it was getting dark I put on a Black Widow pattern

and got bit again and this one was definitely legal in the 18" range which was answered by Thomas with a short Redfish also on the black widow. I then hooked into another 18" trout this one had a gut on it!

Fine looking fish, but that was the last one. We did see quite a few fish pushing bait up against the shore and since it was nearlty 9:00 p.m at this point it was time to head in.
Good times!
Adam
