Jax Beach Pier 4/24

I got to the pier around 7:00 and threw out fresh dead shrimp on a high low rig with 2-3oz of lead. The wind was cooking around 20 mph but the temps were around 70 degrees so I really can't complain. I was looking for some trout and maybe a redfish, but what I found was constant action on the bait stealing sand perch. But mixed in were a few bonnethead sharks as well as a couple of sail cats. I stuck around until 9:00 with no change in the bite. I did hear of a 3' black tip shark caught out toward the end, but I di not see it only a guy with the net sprinting toward the end.

Hope to hit the pier again tomorrow around the same time! Hope the bite is a little better.

Nice Adam. Your going to have to come down and camp at the Sebastian Inlet some time, heck we could get a spot next to ya and then we can do some fishing.

Hey, what are Bait Stealing Sand Perch??? Got a picture of one as I would like to see what they look like.

Sweet reports, just checked them out! Hope we can get down there soon, I need a redfish! I went out in my boat tonight with new buddy of mine Thomas and he caught a short red and a couple of short trout and I picked up a couple of nice 2.5-3# trout and a shortie but no red for me! It's a curse I tell ya! I'll post a report later, but again no good pics, Rebecca went out of town for work and took the camera with her. :-(
