baitfish

Pics will be coming for this report!
We had some boat issues in the morning, so we brought the boat in and decided to use all of our bait down at the pier. So we took our live shrimp and mud minnows with us and started fishing around 2:30. The fish really started hitting around 5:00, bluefish that is. Cookie cutter blues, were nailing the baits, sometimes it was a fish a cast. I laughed at the first half of a mud minnow that came back with a perfect half cirle cut up to it's pectoral fin. But circle hoks kept the line from being cut. As for the whiting, they started biting around 45 minutes before sunset. I saw a couple come over the rail that looked to be over a pound.
The fish were caught on live shrimp and mud minnows on size 4 light mutu circle hooks on a hi/low rig with 2-3oz pyramids on the bottom.
