hey man, don't know about hudson, but in the panhandle we troll or flatline. haven't had much luck on spoons, but Mann's Stretch 25's & 30's work real well behind the boat. troll over structure, artificial reefs, or buoys. basically anywhere that holds baitfish. kings usually hang below the bait ball. flatline a good swimming pinfish or cigar minnow if you anchor. set a light drag and wait for the reel to start talking to you, then reset drag and hang on. stinger treble a good idea on flatline because kings strike short alot. maybe not the heavy steel you're used to with sharks, but they are toothie. good luck!

checkin with a bud back home who knows way more than me to find what the trigger is. guessing once the bait comes in, they follow but want to give the best answer. get back to you as soon as i know.

68 degree water temp is what i'm being told. depth wise: surface to 40' is what i've fished with good results. if you can find bonita crashing a bait ball, fish the sides or underneath. that'll get you FISH ON for sure.

Check out the SKA web site Southern King Fish assocation web site. Its easy actually. Slow troll any type of live bait around shallow structure and game on. Be sure you don't over run them in our area big kings are caught in 40 Ft of water alot. Good luck.
