:) Had four people in the boat this trip so I didn't figure throwing artificial baits were the way to go this time so we went back to fishing the way my Dad taught me, bobbers and shrimp. Launched in northern Titusville and very quickly looked for a place out of the wind. It wasn't white capping but was still pretty annoying. Found a calm spot and threw the lines out only to get some pufferfish and a trout that was as big as the shrimp I threw out. Moved up the bank with the same kind of results. Fished from 8am to just before noon and decided to see how bad the wind was at the railroad bridge. It was tolerable so we stayed and fished off the bottom. Stirred up a couple of mangrove snapper that were the size of your hand and figured we were doing as well as we had all day so we might as well stay. Then my son caught a 32 inch Drum. It took 15 minutes to land and filled up the landing net. WOW! We were estatic, extatic, estackic . . . Pretty Darned Excited! We didn't have a camera so we took a couple pics with cell phones which, if we can figure out how to save them, I will post later. I have heard that large drum can get wormy and I didn't want to bring this one home and find that we killed it for nothing so we released it. We stuck around till 3pm and decided to call it a day.
Here are the pics. :) They were taken and retrieved by my friend Phil Hill.
Look at the bones in the top fin of this fish. They are THICK!
