The Pete Harris Benefit Tournament
Pete Harris is a local friend to many in Sebastian Florida who was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor in September and has been undergoing radiation and chemotherapy at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne.
Pete is also a local musician, and some of you may have seen him at a few of the local restaurants like Hiram's, Squid Lips, and Ozzie's.
His website and music can be found here:

This Benefit Tournament was put together by Capt. Mike Peppe "The Tarpon Dancer" and was I believe a huge success.
Unfortunately I can not give allot of details as I do not know Pete Harris and although I participated in the Tournament I did not make weigh in or the tournament happenings afterward. I am sorry.
I did make the Captain Meeting and had a great time talking to other fishermen and sharing in stories, drinks and eats. Even won a raffle prize but still not sure what it is, guess I had better look.

Well, the next mourning we launched at daybreak from the Sebastian Main Street Ramp. Headed South and had as many Trout as we wanted. After catching about 40 of them with some Lady Fish mixed in we sought new ground for other species with a good start to both the Trash Can Slam and the Real Tournament Catch as well.
Some how we ended up tied together in a flotilla of boats in the Sebastian Inlet.
I still am not exactly sure how this all came about or happened but I think we have been pulled into the Twilight Zone.
The good times rolled as did the Beer and Rum, laughter was had by all and the normal inlet weekend boat show was observed and enjoyed by all as well.
Along the way (after much free running beer and rum) the fish that had been caught for the tournament ended up being cleaned and BBQ'd there on the floating party barge of boats tied together. All hands broke out their stash and we had Fish Dip, Hot Dogs, Sausage, Bratwursts, Chips, Pretzels and plenty of other stuff. Ended up being a pretty good feast. I believe at one point there were 5 boats tied together sharing in the festivities.
Bottom line and although I had a good time I am ashamed to say we missed the weigh in (although we had eaten our fish so had nothing to weigh in anyway) and missed in pitching in a few more bucks in the raffles.
None the less we had a great time and I hope lots of money was earned for Pete Harris. Pictures follow:
