I'm gonna be in Destin visiting the in-laws next May and we're going to charter a 3/4 day trip. What species should I expect to be able to target?? Any potential for Amberjack??

Also...if I were to do some kayak fishing, launching from shore, could I find some cobia or other 'big' fish?

Any thoughts, suggestions would be great.

Hey Dan, Not familiar with that area so can not help out much.

Sorry as this site is not truly open so no traffic yet. Hope to have it up and running in December, well actually November but bugs worked out and doing membership drives in December.

I'm from Panama City but now live in Biloxi, May is a good time for Cobia and Pompano which are both great eating but depending on what time of May. If it's late May you can expect to hook into just about anything. And yes, Amberjack will be on the menu. If you plan to go Kayak fishing, you may want to target Speckled trout and Redfish in the bay. Good luck to you, me and my wife are pulling our boat over May 30th from Biloxi for a fishing trip. Hopefully the King Mackeral will be biting for us.
