I caught my first Sailfish. Although, I don't really feel all that good about it. I was jig fishing Thursday and I tail hooked him. If he had hit the jig and I hooked him in the mouth I would feel I caught him fair and square but I didn't, I only snagged him. I handed him off to a customer to fight. When we got him to the boat he was already dead. =( He measured 66 inches. We didn't weight him so I don't know that stat.

Man I sure hope you don't get any grief on this one.

CONGRATULATIONS as I am sure you had no idea it was tail hooked. Very well may have tried to slash at your jig then swung its tail into your jig hooking itself.

Handing it off for someone else to fight is a class act that I witnessed on the Pastime Princess on my trip as well by the crew - gotta bring good karma.

Had to be some good eats as well. As you said it was already dead so should be no complaints from anyone.

Can't imagine many sailfish are caught from head boats. I wonder if this was the catch my wife was telling me made the local news channel.

Things have calmed back down a little around here and Doc and I are ready to take a trip out on the Pastime Princess again. Hows the bite been and what has been the hottest trips?

Glad to hear George. Actually I think folks over there finally realize you are a stand up guy and honest. Maybe it was just something they were not used to:D .

I hope they all realize this is fishing, sometimes things happen. As you stated the Sail was already dead and I'm sure was not going to be wasted.

That thing had to have fought like crazy I would imagine, well at least till it succumbed.

CONGRATULATIONS again and hope to meet you soon.
